IF you're a fan of Halloween there's a host of frightfully good events taking place this weekend from a Halloween Bonanza in Southbourne to a spooky night walk at Studland. 

Want to know what the weather has in store? On Saturday we'll see highs of 15C with sunny spells predicted, while Sunday will be cloudy with a chance of a light shower in the afternoon.

1. Watch a firework display

Firework displays get underway with a bang this weekend and we've counted at least seven taking place over Friday and Saturday. Check out our full round-up here. The bonfire celebrations kick off with Wareham’s Bonfire & Firework Bonanza on Friday. The event, which is being held at Swanage and Wareham RFC, will see a torch lit procession from the crossroads to the rugby club where a guy will be lit on the bonfire. There will also be food stalls and fancy dress with the evening rounded off with a spectacular fireworks display. 2. Have a spooky time in Southbourne

Head to Southbourne if you dare for a free Halloween extravaganza on Friday night. The celebrations start at 5pm at Southbourne Green, where members of the public meet for a procession through Southbourne Grove, ending up at the bandstand in Fisherman's Walk at 5.30pm. Entertainment will include scary hair-dos, themed decorations and refreshments. The event is run by the Friends of Fisherman's Walk in conjunction withSouthbourne-on-Sea Business Association (SoSBA) and this year is being supported by the Bournemouth Coastal BID (Business Improvement District)

3. Help celebrate a special birthday

The Tuckton Vintage Ferry service is celebrating its 80th year with a family fun day. The service runs along the River Stour from Tuckton to Mudeford, stopping at Wick Ferry and Christchurch Quay. There will be a marquee in the tea gardens with craft stalls, crazy golf, a special menu will be served and of course boat trips which will have a pirate theme. The fun day takes place between 11am to 3pm and is open to everyone.

4. Have a good sing

Warm up your vocal chords and join in the Big Sing at Poole Lighthouse. You don’t need to be the next Katherine Jenkins or Alfie Boe – you just need a passion for singing. . Enjoy our lively workshops with the inspirational choir leaders Stephen Deazley and Eugene Skeef who’ll have you singing Commonwealth-style.The event takes place between 12noon and 5pm and costs £5 to join in.

5. Be entertained in the Square

Storm Troopers and singers from Rubyz Cabaret Club will be coming together in Bournemouth Square between 1pm and 3pm to show their support for the town’s poppy appeal.

6. Dress up and have some Halloween fun

Don your scariest costume and head to Burley for its annual Halloween Day. There will be judging for the best fancy dress costume, a parade, apple bobbing, tarot cards, storytelling and carved pumpkin competition taking place throughout the village in what is set to be a spooktacular day for all the family. Starts at 10am and entry is free.

7. Watch some moving theatre 

Multi-award winning AsOne Theatre Company presents a gripping new piece of theatre with live music at Shelley Theatre on Saturday night. Passion, Love and War 100 Years Apart has been created using real testimony from people, including Bournemouth residents, who have fought in Afghanistan, waved their child off to fight or discovered a WW1 relative's diary. Tickets £11.00 (under 25's £7.00)

8. Scare yourself silly at Studland 

A family Halloween evening, with cider and sausages, is being held on the beach at Studland from 6pm to 8pm on Friday. If you’re feeling brave, why not try a spooky night time walk along the beach.£10 per adult, £7 for under 18s, booking essential by calling 01929 450500. 9. Visit an antiques fair 

Grandma’s Attic Antiques and Collectors Fair returns to Highcliffe Castle this weekend. There will be an array of stalls selling antiques and collectables throughout the Castle's Great Hall, Dining Room, Drawing Room and Octagon. Runs Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

10. Enjoy some frightfully good food 

It’s the annual Halloween Bistro on Swanage Railway. Get all steamed up on the spooky Halloween Special Bistro dining train, with a menu including gory delights such as Twisted Intestines and Hellfire Chicken. Train travel only £4. 11. Go to a scary skate jam

Prevail Skate House is holding a fundraising Halloween fright night skate jam on Friday. Tickets cost £15. A percentage of the money raised will be donated to the children's diabetic unit at Poole Hospital DCODE. Call 01202 280 123.
