A UNIQUE dance performance is taking place later this month in an unlikely Bournemouth location.

Of Riders and Running Horses is a dance event taking place on the top floor of Richmond Gardens multi-storey car park as the sun goes down on June 26-27.

Six female dancers and a live band conjure a new kind of English Folk dance, as the Still House company performs amidst the Bournemouth town centre rooftops.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Watch as the sun sets and experience the power and joy of live music and dance as you glance over the views of Bournemouth from this re-imagined urban space. We find a space in the margins of the city in which to gather, to start an ad hoc ceremony, to stamp our feet and shake our limbs, to dance in the face of an ending. The music is a rider and we are running horses.”

The event is run in conjunction with Pavilion Dance South West, a National Dance Development Agency for the South West of England that operates in partnership with Arts Council England, Bournemouth Borough Council and BH Live.

Of Riders and Running Horses takes place on June 26-27 at 9pm with tickets on a pay what you like basis (recommended £3-£15). For more information please contact www.pdsw.org.uk
