SINGER Jessie Ware is to play Bournemouth for the first time this spring.

Due to high demand, the 33-year-old pop sensation from South London, has added two extra dates, including the O2 Academy in Boscombe on Sunday, April 1, as part of her UK tour.

This announcement comes after her shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and London sold out. Last year marked Jessie’s return to the music scene with her first single in three years, Midnight.

Since then, Jessie has had two further acclaimed singles; Selfish Love and Alone, and held a four-night residency at London’s Islington Assembly Hall.

Written and recorded between home and LA, her new album Glasshouse was released on October 20 in 2017.

Jessie said she was looking forward to playing at the Academy: “I can’t wait because it’s my first time playing in Bournemouth.”

The British singer-songwriter who has often been compared to Sade, has a 16-month-old baby with her husband of three years, Sam Burrows. The couple met at primary school in Clapham and have been together more or less since they were 17.

Last year Jessie revealed how she sometimes struggles to juggle motherhood with her music career and ended up in tears following a Paris gig. She also said she had been undergoing hypnotherapy to cope with stage anxiety.

She said: “I felt like maybe this whole attempt at trying to be a superwoman was coming crashing down at the last hurdle.”

Since her return, Jessie has reinforced her reputation as one of the UK’s strongest vocalists. Tickets from ticketmaster.co.uk
