BOURNEMOUTH’S first free May Day Balearic-style beach party kicks off on Monday.
The brainchild of Bournemouth’s tech and deep house DJ and promoter, Jethro Watson, this inaugural May Day beach party will be hosted at beachfront café and bar, WestBeach, on bank holiday Monday, May 7 from 1pm to 9pm.
DJ Jethro Watson said: “Bournemouth has been crying out for a daytime Balearic beach party with great house music since I can remember and I can’t think of a better venue than WestBeach.
“It’s unrivalled stunning beachfront views and sun-drenched terrace has all the makings of the perfect beach party. Plus, we are fortunate enough to be showcasing Bournemouth’s finest DJs and percussionist, the likes of which hasn’t been seen before. And thanks to Cartel Clothing, Fusion Wi-Fi, Krafted and Void, this event will be free so we’re expecting a big crowd!”
Other local DJs taking part include Damaged Disko, Dave Hornby, James Herkes, Joe Kelly, Luke Anthony, Luke Dubyah, Mike Swaine, Paul Sawyer, Simon Sinfield and Tim Byham. There will also be an appearance by Shawn Mallet and live percussion from John Spencer.
The event will also be streamed live online and organisers hope it will be the first of many events.
DJ Watson adds: “Bournemouth has the UK’s most spectacular coastline and is home to some of the most talented DJs and musicians in the country, so we should be making the most of it.
“We hope that with the support of the local community, we will be in a position to make this beach party a regular event, one that our town can be proud of and richly deserves.”
