THE Manor was arguably the most well-known underground club in Bournemouth’s recent clubbing history. Situated in the New Forest near Matchams, a few miles from Bournemouth, it hosted a weekly event called Legacy which drew in the crowds from right across the country.

1200 people crammed in to the old mansion house (originally a retreat for Lord Nelson) each Saturday to regularly hear (amongst others) Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, John Digweed, Tony De Vit, John 00 Flaming & Danny Rampling alongside Manor Residents Paul Moss and Jon Langford. It’s three rooms covering all the bases – progressive house & trance, soulful garage and club classics. The atmosphere was always electric, the people friendly and the music was always of the highest order.

In 1999 after 3 incredible years of parties the Manor was knocked down to make way for luxury houses. However it’s legacy is still living on today…

The Manor Reunion was born out of a wanting to bring those old clubbing friends together, to celebrate the music, the atmosphere and the DJs that graced those hallowed decks. Late 90s progressive house and trance (arguably the best years for both genres) are the corner stones of the event. Tunes from the likes of Agnelli & Nelson, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Timo Maas, Three Drives, Access & Ayla are regularly heard whilst still pushing the boundaries with a sprinkling of new tunes which, if the Manor was still open today, would suit the vibe perfectly.

Despite the obvious change of venue never has an event created such a similar atmosphere to the Manor itself – this is down to the older crowd who are knowledgeable and appreciate good music. Hands in the air trance is greeted by cheers and whoops whilst the deeper progressive house gets the crowds “head down” for a more serious mood.
