The last time I can honestly say I had any knowledge of the wrestling world was around 20 years ago, when the likes of Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior reigned supreme, in what is now known as WWE wrestling, but was then known as WWF.

So how could I resist the opportunity to relive a part of my childhood by attending WWE Wrestling Live at the BIC.

Playing to a full house of die-hard WWE fans, tonight’s show was one of high energy and pure American-style entertainment. With an audience both young and old alike, the wrestling fraternity were as much a part of the show as the world famous wrestlers they had come to see.

With a star-studded cast of wrestling royalty, tonight’s show featured bouts from Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Erick Rowan, Luke Harper and The Usos, to name but a few.

Particularly popular with the dads in the audience, entertainment also included a championship match in women’s wrestling, which included famous names such as Natalya, Becky Lynch and daughter of wrestling’s ‘hall of famer’ Ric Flair, known simply as Charlotte.

Fans of UK wrestling were treated to a championship match, showcasing current UK wrestling champion Tyler Bate, who took part in a six man brawl, full of all the kinds of antics you could expect from his American counterparts.

The WWE live tour heads to London’s 02 on Tuesday night and Brighton next month, before returning to the UK with a brand new tour in November.
