SUMMER has arrived!

Broadway Showtunes captures the spirit of the season with its bright and energetic approach to entertainment.

Back at the Pavilion for the 17th consecutive year, this stunning production takes the audience on a whistle-stop tour of the some of the best Broadway and West End musicals.

Its hugely-talented cast of around 150 young performers are clearly loving every minute and it’s infectious.

The show gets off to a flying start when the full company come together for excerpts from On the Town and from then on there are opportunities galore to demonstrate their impressive singing, acting and dancing skills.

Senior students from Big Little Theatre School’s Professional Development Programme demonstrate once again why so many of the school’s students gain places in top theatre schools.

Their varied performances include Young Frankenstein, Jesus Christ Superstar, Ragtime and The Life.

Younger students pulled off some tricky songs from Miss Saigon, Copacabana, High Society, Peter Pan and Kiss Me Kate and the audience was transported to New York with a staggeringly-good performance of I Wanna Be A Rockette.

The finale of Cinderella shows exactly why this school is so successful. All ages mingle on the stage and it’s obvious the little ones are learning from and admiring senior students, ready to step into their shoes.

This show runs until Saturday and is the perfect antidote to a hard week at work. Grab a ticket – you’ll feel better for it.
