THAT’LL BE THE DAY

Weymouth Pavilion

THEY’RE back and a full house of enthusiastic fans were treated to a Christmas party of non- stop hits from the past that only Trevor Payne and his team know how to stage.

All the favourite Christmas hits of yesteryear were given new life along with acknowledgements to recently deceased stars like Glen Campbell and Bruce Forsyth.

There was also an acknowledgement to Neil Sedaka, while black and white television video footage from Juke Box Jury and Top of the Pops took the audience back to the good old days of pop paradise.

Daft comedy routines interlinked with amazingly skilled performances from the multi talented musicians and singers. But if the first half of the show was rather less manic than we are used to enjoying, after the interval the gang of ten let rip as only they know how with a crazy version of Cinderella, alias Steptoe and son along with a naughty dog with some unusual skills.

As always, the audience were invited to join in the singing and they got to their feet to get into party mood in a long and colourful show that got everyone in celebratory mood

Laughter loomed large of course and did Gary get to perform his longed-for Roy Orbison tribute at last? You will have to go along to the BIC at Bournemouth on December 17th if you want to know as the group continue to tour the country with a show that is about as good as it gets at Christmas.

Still want more? They will be off on their Spring tour in January and aim to arrive at Weymouth on Friday March 30th with tickets selling fast already.
