ABOUT 10 years ago I went to the O2 (or was it the Opera House then?) to see a local band called Air Traffic.

The venue was pretty rammed and there was a real buzz about the place.

The evening went really well and I expected them to go on to achieve much bigger things.

They were playing festivals and sharing the stage with the likes of Elbow, The Killers and Neil Young and seemed to have the world at their feet. But then all of a sudden they weren’t around anymore.

Fast forward 10 years and they are back together, making new music and out on tour.

Once again the venue was pretty packed and it could well have been the same people who were there the last time I saw them.

Chris, David, Tom and Jim made a low key entrance and launched straight into Get In Line and Never Even Told Me Her Name from their debut album Fractured Life.

Tonight’s set list did rely heavily on their debut long player with an enthusiastic crowd lapping up every second of tunes like Charlotte, Just Abuse Me and I Like That.

There was at least one cover, which I am reliably told was Weezer's Undone - The Sweater Song, fitting nicely into the set.

My favourite track off the album, and of the night, No More Running Away, was the final tune of the main set and saw the band leave the stage to a crescendo of noise from the crowd.

Cue an inevitable encore with Chris Wall delivering a solo version of Empty Space before the band finished the night with a stomping rendition of Shooting Star.

There is obviously a lot of love for Air Traffic not just in Bournemouth but from a far wider audience.

Their piano driven songs sound just as fresh as they ever have and could not have been received any better so let's look forward to new music and more dates like this please guys.
