SANDBANKS had never looked so good. With a radiant sun and not a cloud in the sky, SandFest had all the makings for the ultimate beachfront summer electronic music festival.

Over a dozen speedboats and yachts were moored on the shoreline, with the occasional jet ski whizzing by. The sea was a striking Aegean blue and as we arrived you could sense the excitement of Bournemouth and Poole’s party revellers.

The line-up was programmed with thought and consideration. DJs included the mighty Idris Elba, garage aficionado Matt Jam Lamont, local hero Jay Welsh, Kiss FM’s James Hype, rapper Lethal B, BBC Radio One Extra’s Mistajam and much-loved American producer, MK.

“I’m really pleased that we are back for our second year running, which is largely due to the support of the team at Poole’s local authority. There is so much potential in Poole that goes unnoticed. We could be at any of the world’s top party hotspots. I am hugely grateful to everybody involved and to the thousands of punters that are here today. It’s incredible, " said Ty Temel, co-founder of SandFest.

SandFest represents the Poole we can be proud of – a world-class resort that offers a festival on the beach with cracking beats so you can dance your socks off and have a really good time. There was not a hint of trouble. Everybody fused together seamlessly. We could have been in Ibiza, Croatia or Miami. But we weren’t. It was better than that. We were home.
