ON Wednesday a meeting was held in the Court Hall, Brockenhurst, to discuss what the residents there could do to assist.

It was finally decided to turn the Hall into a hospital to receive the wounded after they have been in Netley or Haslar Hospitals for a week or so, and relive the pressure on their military hospitals.

They asked for at least £500 to make a start and within ten minutes received £650; besides several offers from county gentry to take half-a-dozen convalescent soldiers or sailors.

It is a fine hall and splendidly fitted for such a purpose.
