Five kayakers were rescued after getting into difficulty off Durlston Head yesterday.
Solent Coastguard received reports of a group of five kayakers in difficulties. The tide was ebbing and there was a blustery south westerly wind.
The Coastguard helicopter, the Swanage Coastguard team, both Swanage lifeboats and Poole all weather lifeboat were tasked to assist.
The inshore lifeboat found the kayakers a little way down tide just West of Anvil Point.
Some of the kayaks had capsized and they had been unable to empty them.
The kayakers were taken out of the water and put aboard the all weather lifeboat which arrived on scene just after.
They were landed at Swanage Pier and handed over to the volunteers from Swanage Coastguard. Two were suffering from sea sickness but there were no injuries.
