AN overturned lorry at Stag Gate, near Sturminster Marshall, caused the closure of a significant section of the A31 this morning.

Dorset Police and paramedics were called the single-vehicle incident around 7.20am.

The lorry, which was carrying scrap metal, appeared to have slid onto its side spilling debris along the side of the road.

A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital after sustaining minor injuries.

A31 Stag Gate fully reopened at 1340 hours following a lorry on its side. Here's a quick video clip from the scene.
