These stunning photos were captured during yesterday's Summer Solstice - one of the warmest on record.
While thousands of people may have flocked to Stonehenge to watch the sunrise on the longest day of the year, Purbeck's very own Woodhenge was just one of the places in Dorset our readers visited to usher in the summer.
While night owls captured last night's spectacular sunset at Sandbanks and Mudeford.
There was more than 16 and a half hours of daylight with sunrise at 4.54am and setting at 9.24pm.
With temperatures reaching the low 30s in some places, the Met Office said it was the hottest June day since 1976 with the mercury peaking at 34.5C at Heathrow.
Yesterday saw the hottest June day since 1976 with highs of 34.5 °C at Heathrow - much fresher today with a drop of 10 degrees in places pic.twitter.com/fq4JcRasZh
