TWO men have appeared in court after an alleged burglary near Swanage town centre during the carnival procession.

Police were called to Victoria Avenue just after 4pm on Sunday.

It was reported that at around 3pm damage was caused to a window while offenders gained entry, however nothing was stolen.

Officers stopped a vehicle nearby, which was allegedly involved in the burglary.

A 39-year-old man from the Slough area in Berkshire was charged with burglary. He last appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 1, and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, August 31.

A 49-year-old man, also from the Slough area, was charged with burglary and using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance. He last appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 1, and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, August 31.
