Final preparations are being made for a major fundraiser taking place today.
Cakes have been baked and tea and coffee bought in bulk for the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
And there are hundreds of events taking place in kitchens, lounges, community centres and offices across Dorset.
One of those events is being organised by Poole firefighters, who are holding an event at The Dancing Goat, Parr Street, Ashley Cross on Friday.
As well as raising money for a good cause, the day will give firefighters the opportunity to get together with the community, offer fire safety advice and promote local on-call firefighter recruitment.
Watch manager Mark Downing said: "The Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events are a great way to help raise awareness and money for people with cancer, ensuring they never have to go through it alone.
"As a fire and rescue service, we are always there for our communities in an emergency, but it is always nice to get involved in a non-emergency way as well.
"We are grateful to the Dancing Goat for their support. As the fire station is out of town, we thought it would be better to go somewhere more central - and we hope to raise a lot of money."
Friday's event is scheduled for 10am-4pm.
