Police are searching for a missing woman from Swanage.

Lydia Inman, who is 71 and known as Annabel, was last seen at her home in South Road at around 1pm on Friday when she left the address on foot.

She was reported missing at 9.27pm as she had not returned home.

Annabel is described as white, approximately five feet six inches tall, of slim build and has grey hair. She is wearing a black jacket and blue leggings.

She took her handbag with her but not her mobile phone.

Chief Inspector Steve White, of Dorset Police, said: “We are becoming very concerned for Annabel’s safety as we believe she was upset when she left her home yesterday. It is completely out of character that she has not returned.

“Annabel is not dressed for the conditions overnight and we are searching the area to find her as soon as possible.

“I am appealing for anyone who has seen her since yesterday afternoon, or a woman matching the description, to please contact us urgently.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police by calling 101, quoting incident number 18:488.
