THE air ambulance has been called to the scene of a crash on the A351 Sandford Road.

The crash involves a car and a motorbike.

Police have closed the road at the roundabout for Morden Road and Sanford Road and a closure is also in place in Blackhill road.

Police were called at 1.33pm.

Work has been taking place on Sandford Road to repair a burst water main which caused long delays earlier this month.

Wessex Water were expected to repair the temporary fix yesterday and a temporary 20mph speed limit was put in place.

Work resumed this morning at 9.30am and Travel Dorset said temporary lights would be removed this afternoon before rush hour.

The lights will be back in place at 8am on Saturday when the work starts and will remain in place until Monday afternoon.
