A BUMPER crop of events are in store across Dorset this weekend as the summer fun continues. Here's your guide to what's on where and when.

There will be tantalising treats on offer when the Taste of the South Festival returns this weekend. The event, now in its second year, aims to showcase the region’s top food, drink, artisan products, art and culture from the south of England. The two-day festival takes place at the new location of Chapel Gate between 10am and 8pm on Saturday and 10am and 5pm on Sunday. Some of the traders who will be showing off their delicacies include B8 Bubble Waffles, Spicers Meat Wagon, Raw Food Dude, The Unusual Pork Pie & Meat Company and The Ice Chef.

The ever-popular Emergency Services Family Fun Day is back at Kings Park on Saturday. The free family event organised by Dorset and Wiltshire fire and Rescue Service in partnership with SafeWise, Dorset Police, South Western Ambulance Service and other emergency services takes place between 11am and 4pm. There will be a real fire display, cooker fires, CPR awareness and a multi-agency reconstruction of a road traffic collision. Plus, police drones, charity stalls and more.

Take a step back in time at the Wimborne History Festival on Saturday and Sunday. The free living history event will commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War and mark 100 years since woman gained the vote with a suffragette rally, artillery displays, a military encampment and spy training activities. Many of the activities will this year take place at the grounds of Allenbourn School. A trench warfare exhibition will take place at the Allendale Centre. On the Sunday, a remembrance service will take place at the Minster church at 4pm.

The Bournemouth Rocks Charity Concert takes place at St Peter’s Catholic School in Southbourne on Saturday. The concert will commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War and raise money for the Stable Family Home Trust and Pilgrim Bandits. There will be performances from the likes of Shine Performing Arts School, First Position School of Dance and the Bournemouth University Big Band. Gates open from 4pm with the concert starting at 5pm. A spectacular firework finale will bring it to a close. People can take along their own picnics but there will be a hog roast and food available on site.

Family festival Sorted in Dorset comes to Poole’s Hamworthy Park this weekend. The two-day extravaganza will feature locally produced food and drink, arts, crafts, fashion, sports, activities for children and more. Takes place between 12pm and 8pm with free entry for under fives. A percentage of the funds raised from tickets sold for the event will go to the Friends of Hamworthy Park, towards their project to restore Hamworthy Paddling Pool.

There will be lifeboat demonstrations, a circus school, face painting, street food, live music and games at the annual RNLI College Summer Fete on Sunday. The fun takes place between 11am and 4pm and there’s free entry and free parking for visitors.

Dog lovers can take their four-legged friends to the Dorset Dogs Festival at Upton Country Park on Sunday. Between 11am and 4pm, there will be doggy displays and demonstrations, stalls and a dog show.
