These pictures may have been snapped 20 years ago, but it was likely an unforgettable day for all those involved.

Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex visited Wimborne Jubilee Garden on April 21, 2022, to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

They were greeted by a crowd of well-wishers and met with local schoolchildren, who performed a song for them. The royal couple also planted a tree in the garden and unveiled a plaque to commemorate the Queen’s 70th year on the throne.

They were accompanied by their children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn.

The family toured the garden and met with local residents.

The visit was a success and the Countess was warmly welcomed by the people of Wimborne.

The event was a fitting way to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and to celebrate the close ties between the Royal Family and the people of Dorset.
