THIS day one year ago, the people of Mudeford were faced with a devastating tragedy. Their beloved historic church had gone up in flames, leaving the community in grief.

Emergency services descended upon the scene as more than 50 firefighters continued to fight the fierce fire. A cordon was created by local law enforcement, blocking off the affected road.

These images were taken on July 14, 2022, as the All Saints Church was engulfed in fire.

Twelve fire engines, two water carriers and even an aerial ladder were deployed to tackle the raging flames which had spread across both the church and its adjoining hall.

The magnitude of the fire in the building was such that it necessitated a significant response; with 12 fire engines, two water carriers and an aerial ladder being sent to extinguish the flames which had also spread to the hall behind.

Firefighters used main lines to bring the fire under control and prevent further fire spread.

A sea of faces watched in disbelief as firefighters battled the blaze drawing water from Mudeford Quay.

The fire was found to have been caused by an electrical issue in the building.
