Search for black cockapoo dog missing from Bournemouth

Winnie went missing from the Knights Road area of Bearwood between 7am and 7.30am on Monday morning, March 25. 

Owner Hannah Cullen said the six-month-old black cockapoo disappeared from her back garden and has not been seen since.

She said: “My partner let her out into the garden, and when I went to let her back in around 10 or 15 mins later the gate was open, and she was gone.

“It was very windy so there’s a chance the gate could’ve blown open. But I don’t know if she’s gone out voluntarily or if someone has come in and taken her.”

Hannah and her family are now desperately searching for Winnie, and have been leaflet dropping to call on residents for help.

She said: “I’m exhausted but I’m almost in adrenaline mode trying to find her. It’s the worst feeling and my kids are distraught.

“The focus right now for me is getting people to check their cameras, ring doorbells, garages, sheds, any outbuildings - anywhere they can think to check. But not just the once, because she could be on the move.

“Please keep looking, but don’t go out shouting her name because that could scare her. It’s better to act normal but use your eyes.”

Winnie is described as a small to medium sized black cockapoo, with a white chin mark that goes down her neck, and white tips on her two back paws.

She has a pink collar with a tag, and is microchipped.

On where she could be, Hannah said: “We often walk her around the whole estate, Lionheart Fields, Wheelers Lane dog park, and the park in Bearwood.

“I’m hoping she is still on the estate and she’s hiding.”

Hannah has asked people do not chase or call Winnie, and to only get hold of her if she approaches.

She said: “She’s a very friendly dog, she loves people, however she might be in survival mode right now, and be scared, so she might be a completely different dog.”
