A CENTURY from Dan Salmon helped Swanage to an 87-run win over Dorset League Premier Division strugglers Parley.

Salmon bludgeoned 110 of his team’s 292 runs and Parley found the total to hot to handle after embarking on their chase.

Swans’ stand-in skipper Ryan Norman won the toss and elected to bat, the opening pair of Mike Salmon and Dan Salmon bring up a century stand in just 15 overs.

The former was brilliantly caught for 41, which included seven boundaries, before Francis Kerins batted fluently to make 28 out of a 101-run partnership.

Dan Salmon eventually fell to Nathan Blackford having faced just 85 balls, smashing 17 boundaries in the process.

Swans’ momentum was maintained by Mike Nash, who compiled an unbeaten 53 as the visitors’ posted 292 for six from their 50 overs.

In reply, Parley got off to a decent start against some economical bowling from Elliott Baczala and Mike Hernandez.

The brakes were applied further when Norman introduced himself with leg-spinner Dan Salmon, the former taking three wickets and the latter a brace.

Swanage could not claim the last wicket they craved but Parley were stopped well short on 205 for nine.
