THERE’S still an opportunity to enjoy the Poole art exhibition, The Art of the 2 JB’s. This special showing runs at The Gallery Upstairs, which is located above the tea rooms at Upton Country Park until Monday.

Poole artists John Britton and John Biggs have combined to produce an enthralling collection. Both are members of Poole and East Dorset Art Society and have a similar approach to painting in their choice of subject, use of materials and colour.

John Biggs said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reaction we've received from people coming to our exhibition. It’s good to see so many smiling faces as they look at our pictures.”

Speaking about the collaboration, John Biggs added: “I’ve always admired John’s work for its originality and his masterly use of texture and colour. When I undertook to do an exhibition, John Britton was the obvious choice of partner.”

John Britton said: “I am known for a distinctive use of colour and a recognisable style, despite the range of subjects I depict.

“I am striving to make my work more abstract, but aim to ensure that it is meaningful and that the viewer can relate the picture to its title.”

Be quick as the exhibition closes at 4pm on Monday. Entrance and parking is free and is open from 10:30am to 4.30pm this weekend.
