EXPERIENCE some explosive entertainment with the Tank Museum’s world of Modern Warfare events this week.
The museum, which recently won the large visitor attraction of the year award at the Dorset Tourism Awards, is hosting a wide range of activities to spark the interest of young and old alike.
There are outdoor arena Tanks in Action displays every weekday at 2pm, offering the chance to see the evolution of modern warfare from the beginnings of the tank in the First World War to the present day.
Visitors can also meet the British Army and learn more about their equipment, day-to-day work and training in a series of free talks and tours including a hands on experience with The Rifles and a talk entitled ‘Face to face with the enemy’, about their experiences in Afghanistan.
Additionally, there will be craft activities and trails for children and tank museum modeller events every day.
All the special events weave into the museum’s existing exhibitions such as Warhorse to Horsepower, the Trench Experience, and Battlegroup Afghanistan.
In the half term the museum will also offer one child free admission for every family. To qualify, visitors have to download and complete a challenge and bring their creation with them on the day.
For more information, and to complete the challenge for free entry, visit tankmuseum.org
