Looking for a firework display or bonfire to attend? Here's what happening this weekend.

The big events

Littledown fireworks: Saturday, November 7

The event attracts thousands of people every year and includes not one but three displays at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. The final one, called the White Knuckle, is billed as the South’s loudest fireworks display.

Gates open at 5.30pm, with a wide variety of entertainment to keep the while family amused both before and between the displays. The free entry indoor family zone will include Get Set Go Karting, Crazy Creatures, a taekwondo display and displays by members of the Avonbourne Gymnastics Club.

Outside there will be the Heart 102.3 roadshow with Rich and Zoe live on stage as well as a full funfair, bar and other refreshments.

A limited number of family tickets are available until November 1 at the special early bird discount price of £20.

Regular event tickets cost £7 for adults, £5 for under 16s and the event is free for under threes.

Butchers Coppice: Saturday, November 7

Billed as “Bournemouth’s traditional family fireworks display and bonfire”, the skies over Butcher’s Coppice Scout Camp at Bear Cross will be lit up once again.

Gates open for the event at 5.30pm with the bonfire lit at 6pm. The popular Guy Fawkes competition will also return with prizes on offer for the best three. Just take your Guy along to the display by 7pm and hand it to one of the bonfire stewards.

The finale will be a spectacular fireworks display at 7.30pm. There will also be archery, a gladiator challenge, children’s rides, stalls and BBQs.

Advance ticket prices are £8 for a family ticket (up to 2 adults and up to 4 children), £3 for adults and £1.50 for children.

Stanpit, Christchurch: Saturday, November 7

Christchurch Rotary will host their annual bonfire and fireworks at Stanpit Recreation Ground. Gates open from 5pm with bonfire is due to be lit at 6.15pm. The fireworks start at 7.45pm, with live music from James Emmett’s Ragtime Revellers. Community and youth groups will be providing food and drink.

A variety of stalls including a children’s ride and bouncy castle will also be available. 

Parking will be available in the Two Riversmeet Car Park, with pedestrian access to the event via Stanpit car park or Two Riversmeet. 

Organisers have asked visitors not to bring alcohol or fireworks and sparklers as they will not be allowed on site. A family ticket is £15 while adult tickets are £6 and entry for children is £3 each.

Wimborne & Colehill Fireworks, St. Michael's Middle School: Saturday, November 7 

Witness 15,000 fireworks light up the skies sychronised to James Bond theme songs in honour of the latest 007 film, Spectre.

The popular Wimborne & Colehill event is described as "Dorset's longest firework display" and will also feature food stalls, a children's sparkler zone and rides for the little ones. There's even a park and ride from the Wimborne Market car park in New Borough and Station Road.

Gates open at 4.30pm with a Guy competition at 5.30pm and the bonfire lit at 6pm. Fireworks begin at 7pm. Entry £5 for adults, £3 for children and under fives are free. Family tickets are £14 for two adults and two children.  

Community events

Poulner Junior School, Ringwood: Saturday, November 7 

Poulner Junior School’s PTA are holding their annual fireworks spectacular to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night. Gates open at 6pm and the evening will start with a Guy Fawkes competition with entries welcome on the night.  There will also be hot food and drinks with a licensed bar. Advance tickets available at £3 each from the school office or by calling 01425 479303. Tickets at the gate cost £5 each. 

Ones with Bonfires 

Fawcetts Field, New Milton: Saturday, November 7 

New Milton Round Table presents a charity fireworks extravaganza. Gates open at 6pm with food, stalls and rides for the children. There will be a bonfire at 7pm with fireworks from 8pm. Entry for adults is £6, children under 16 are £4 and under fours go free. There will also be a Guy Fawkes competition for local schools with cash prizes on offer. Avon Tyrrell, Bransgore: Saturday, November 7 

Warm yourself by the camp fire at Avon Tyrrell outdoor activity centre. There will be a Guy Fawkes competition, burgers and hot dogs, hot drinks and sparklers between 5pm and 9pm. For more information contact: 01425 672347
