RAPPER Professor Green will headline this year’s Bournemouth 7s Festival, it has been announced.

The festival returns to Chapel Gate during the bank holiday weekend on May 25 and 26.

Last year, the musician’s friend Example headlined Bournemouth 7s Festival to a record crowd.

Professor Green said: “My good friend Example played the festival last year and told me how good it was so it was a no brainer when I was asked to headline this year. I can’t wait.”

Otherwise known as Stephen Manderson, Professor Green has released two top three albums and sold 2.5 million records in the UK alone.

He has also presented five critically acclaimed BBC documentaries, published an autobiography and is a patron of suicide prevention charity CALM and trauma charity, Transform Trauma.

Other acts lined-up include England rugby pro and DJ James Haskell.

Dubbed the ‘sporting Glastonbury’, Bournemouth 7s Festival attracts around 30,000 revellers each year.

During the day, rugby, netball, hockey, dodgeball and volleyball teams will complete in a range of tournaments across the 65-acre site.

By night, the festival offers a variety of themed arenas offering the best in bass, funky disco, dance and RnB including The Bunker, The Funky Forest, The Big Top, the Colourseum and The Yard as well as a VIP area.
