A ONE Direction star, renowned DJ and popular indie rock band have been announced as this year's Camp Bestival headliners.

The line-up for this year's festival includes Liam Payne, Fatboy Slim and Groove Armada, as well as special guest set from Friendly Fires.

Other music, comedy and family acts include Becky Hill, Sara Cox, David Rodigan, Sophie Ellis-Bextor ft. Sink The Pink, Norman Jay, The Sugarhill Gang, Max and Harvey, Biig Piig, Georgia, Dick & Dom and Adam Kay.

The event will return to Lulworth Castle in July.

Camp Bestival curator Rob da Bank said: “We can’t think of a style of music that isn't on the bill this year - from rave to grime, classical to pop, guitars and reggae.

"It's not just about music - it's all going off from CBeebies to skate ramps, an outdoor cinema, tree climbing, Wild Tribe screen-free adventures into nature, yoga, meditation and explosive science shows. Get ready for Camp Bestival 2020.”

Fatboy Slim will headline Saturday along with Friendly Fires, while Friday night will welcome Liam Payne. Groove Armada will take to the stage to headline Sunday.

The festival is not just about the music; Wild Tribe, a screen-free field, will return for its second year with Spinney Hollow’s Craft Village, bushcrafts and bivouac building, drumming circles, immersive theatre from Mossy Crow, water slides, zip lines, tree climbing, campfires, calm spaces and hortisculpture. Young environmentalists will be able to join in activities with Youth Strike 4 Climate, founded by climate change activist Greta Thunberg.

New to 2020, festivalgoers will enter the world of film with audiovisual shows featuring well-loved cult movie classics remixed by DJ Yoda, acting workshops from Stagecoach and The BRIT School and a Sunday finale with a sound and light show, fireworks and projections on Lulworth Castle.

An outdoor cinema will celebrate the full moon on the Saturday, Irvine Welsh will talk about his career in screenwriting and there will be a series of comedy and circus performances.

Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, said: “This year, Camp Bestival will be special one for me as I am bringing my daughter for her first festival. Infantile grown ups, watch our children grow and glow as we attempt to teach them about the festi-love, dancing and laughter.”

Liam Payne added: “I’ve heard amazing things about Camp Bestival and can’t wait to head down to Lulworth Castle to join the party.”

Camp Bestival takes place from July 30-August 2.
