REVIEW
TONY LOWE, BOROUGH GARDENS, DORCHESTER
Singer Tony Lowe, gave a relaxing professional afternoon's entertainment in the Borough Gardens, Dorchester, on Sunday in aid of the Weldmar Hospice Care Trust.
In his usual crooner style, Tony presented his audience with a great selection of songs by Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Barry Manilow, Michael Buble and others.
The floral background of the gardens added to the atmosphere of a pleasant sunny and dry afternoon.
Audience participation was encouraged with a selection of sing-a-long songs which encouraged clapping and even dancing around the band stand from some of the audience.
One couple even did a wheelchair dance which more than demonstrated their expertise.
Tony not only kept his audience entertained with continuous music but he also demonstrated his musical knowledge by pointing out that Frank Sinatra's song, My Way, was originally a French song entitled Comme d'habitude!
I would thoroughly recommend going to Tony's next park concerts, on Friday, August 24, featuring his daughter Kate, from 2pm at Greenhill Gardens, Weymouth and on Sunday, August 26, from 2pm to 4.30pm again at Greenhill Gardens, Weymouth, in aid of Friends of Greenhill Gardens when you can come along and enjoy being serenaded by his velvet voice.
