The BIC was packed for the final date of the Bryan Adams Shine A Light tour, which was great news as each sale of a ticket also resulted in the planting of a tree.

Walking on stage Bryan always looks the coolest of rock stars, dressed in the usual black jacket and jeans, he launched straight into Looking for Love and from the first note the crowd were in party mood and by the second song, Cant Stop This Thing We Started everyone was singing and clapping along.

The video screen at the rear of the stage played a mix of shots of the crowd and the videos to the songs. The lighting was great, I’ve never seen LED strips hanging from the ceiling and moving around in sequence before, it was a really impressive light show.

There was a good mix of the old and new songs, something for everyone, included all the usual crowd pleasers Heaven, Run to You, and the Tina Turner duet It’s Only Love, unfortunately Tina wasn’t on stage to help him, so it was the duty of Keith Scott the amazing lead guitarist who played a truly awesome solo during the song.

He certainly loves to involve the crowd as much as possible, the videographers were kept busy with shots during various songs including You Belong To Me and crowd favourite Summer of 69.

Of course Bryan has released the odd ballad or two so we were treated to an acoustic section of the show supplying a nice balance to the rockier numbers.

The encore, started with a couple of excellent covers of I Fought the Law and Whiskey in the Jar before Bryan ended the show on his own with his guitar and mouth organ to play Shine a Light and Straight From The Heart before the final song of the evening delivered entirely lit by mobile phones from the audience who all sang along to All for One.

A perfect end to a great concert.
