MUSICAL fans are in for a treat when a West End show is screened live in Dorset.

Billy Elliot The Musical Live will be shown on the big screen in the grounds of the historic, Grade 1 listed Highcliffe Castle at 8pm on Friday, September 14.

Night Star Cinema is staging the open air event, which starts at 6pm, with ticket holders invited to either take their own picnic and enjoy the grounds until the film programme begins at 8pm, or take advantage of the on-site catering which will be available from 6pm.

Those attending are also reminded to take along warm clothing and/or blankets, as well as something comfortable to sit on. The event organisers have pledged to present the movie in light rain conditions, if it is safe to do so, but may relocate inside the building, or postpone the screening if torrential rain or strong wind is forecast, with a view to reschedule the showing within two weeks, subject to venue availability.

Customers holding valid tickets will be offered the choice of a refund, or the transfer of their tickets to another performance.

Billy Elliot the Musical has been seen by almost 12 million people across five continents and collected more than 80 awards in its lifetime. It has played for more than 11 years in London’s West End and on a UK and Ireland tour.

Tickets cost £10 per person, available from the castle, in Rothesay Drive, Highcliffe, or by calling 01425 278807.
