1. Lighthouse, Poole: The Tale of the Cockatrice on October 23, will appeal to monster lovers young and old or step into the magical and colourful world of Little Baby Bum from October 26-28. An online and digital TV sensation, Little Baby Bum is the world’s largest educational YouTube channel with over 20 billion views. It combines puppetry, live action and animation. 2. Artsreach Dorset: Two professional children’s theatre companies are heading to rural Dorset to tour with Artsreach, the county’s rural arts charity.

Tall Tree Theatre brings Lily & the Albatross, a heartfelt tale about achieving the unachievable and never letting go of your childhood dreams or join the Dinosaur Detectives as they delve in to the stories of the first fossil finds of Mary Anning, William Buckland and Gideon Mantell, featuring puppets, shadow play and projections. Children can also get hands-on at the fossil table after the show. Finally, children can venture inside the magical enchanting space of the Story Boat at Gillingham library. 3. Bournemouth Pavilion: Stagecoach Performing Arts celebrate their 30th year on October 27 by bringing together seven Hampshire and Dorset schools for a gala night which will feature singing, dancing and acting scenes from some of the West End’s best musicals. See bhlivetickets.co.uk.
