IT’S described as the ultimate pop princess party. Once Upon A Princess returns to Dorset for the next leg of its first UK tour with a visit to Wimborne’s Tivoli Theatre on Sunday, May 12.

Producer Andy Brennan of Dorset’s OCD Productions promises a glittering show featuring everyone’s favourite fairytale princesses plus a soundtrack of top pop and movie hits.

Andy said he was able to draw on his own experience of children and musical theatre. “My mum and dad took me to the Palladium to watch Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when I was 5 and I knew at that moment that I wanted to be part of this magical industry! I begged my parents to let me go to a drama club. I attended a Saturday morning drama school from the age of 6 (it was called Drama Plus and it was based at the Regent Centre, in Christchurch.)

“Fast forward many years later, and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have a very varied career in the industry. I’ve performed, I’ve danced on ice, I’ve presented, I’ve taught and now I’m producing - probably my greatest love because I’m a control freak and as a producer, you are in control of every element.”

A tour spokesman added: “Once Upon A Princess, now in its third sparkling year, continues to entertain, inspire and captivate with its toe-tapping, dance in the aisles set list which features songs from Olly Murs, Cher, Michael Buble, Dolly Parton, Jess Glynne, The Greatest Showman, West End and Broadway numbers from Shrek, Hairspray, Footloose, Annie and The Wiz.” Tickets are on sale now priced at £12.
