FORMER Sex Pistol John Lydon will get up close and personal about his life and career in a new solo tour next year which includes two Dorset venues.

The shows in autumn 2020 will coincide with the publication of his new book, I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right. Lydon will reflect on the Sex Pistols, Public Image Limited (PiL), his art and his life’s story during informal evenings of conversation and audience questions.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, November 1. A limited number of pre-release tickets for fans will be available from Monday, October 28 as well VIP meet and greet packages.

Signed limited edition copies of his forthcoming book (5,000 copies were printed) written for this tour, will be also available.

Lydon headed both the Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. PiL disbanded in 1992 and, since then, Lydon has reformed and toured with both bands. Now, he is preparing to take to the stage in a different guise – that of John Lydon on his own.

A tour spokesman: “An icon, a revolutionary and an immortal, as the frontman and lyricist of the Sex Pistols, Johnny Rotten changed the face of music and sparked a cultural revolution. He caused an earthquake which transformed music for good.

“During his remarkable years in Public Image Ltd he consistently pushed back the boundaries and still continues to challenge and thrive. “

As a writer, Lydon has written two best-selling volumes: Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs and Anger Is An Energy: My Life Uncensored.

n John Lydon is at the Bournemouth International Centre on Wednesday, September 30 and the Tivoli in Wimborne on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
