THE father of a young model and dancer who died at Bestival has backed a charity which supports parents through grief.

John Michie, who stars in Holby City, is to serve as an ambassador for The Good Grief Project, which supports bereaved families.

Michie's daughter Louella was found dead in a wooded area on the edge of the Bestival music festival site in September last year.

The 25-year-old had overdosed on ecstasy and ketamine, it was heard during the opening of an inquest.

Bestival was held at Lulworth Castle for the first time in 2017.

Michie will support new documentary film A Love That Never Dies as part of his new role.

He said: "When your child dies it is devastating for the family, and in many cases affects people for the rest of their lives.

"It is for this reason I am honoured to become an ambassador for this vital and worthy charity."

Miss Fletcher-Michie's boyfriend Ceon Broughton, 29 and of Enfield in north London, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court last month charged with her manslaughter by gross negligence.

He did not enter a plea and is due to appear before a judge on Friday, April 20.
