THE clocks will change this weekend as the UK reverts to Greenwich Mean Time.

On Sunday at 2am, the clocks will go back by one hour as British Summer Time comes to an end.

People will be able to enjoy an extra hour of sleep; however it will go darker an hour earlier.

This year, daylight saving time started on Sunday, March 25, when the clocks went forward by one hour.

The clocks will next change again on Sunday, March 31.

Daylight saving was first suggested by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 but introduced to the UK by London builder, William Willett.
