Here's your guide to what's happening across the area this weekend.

1. There will be ghoulishly good fun for all the family when Frankenfest returns to Southbourne on Saturday. The ‘spooktacular’ event takes place in Southbourne Grove between 10am and 10pm with visitors invited to dress up for the occasion. The main event will be a Halloween parade which starts at 5pm with participants invited to trick or treat local businesses who will be offering treats. There will also be live music from the original Doctor and the Medics and Madness tribute band, Los Palmas 6. Other activities will include apple bobbing, face painting and “feeler boxes”.

2. Poole Zombie Fest makes its debut on Saturday. The event will take over the High Street from 10am with activities for all the family. Visitors are encouraged to wear zombie fancy dress and take part in a zombie parade which will travel along the high street and end of the Quay at 4.45pm with prizes for the 'worst dressed' zombie. There will also be a pop-up zombie-themed escape room in the centre of the Square, a zombie photo area, rides and more.

3. Bournemouth's Metropole Market of 2018 takes over the Lansdowne this Sunday. Back by popular demand, this month's event will take on a Day of the Dead theme to mark Hallowe'en. Between 11am and 5pm, there will be a parade led by Skull Drummers, along with children from First Position School of Dance, live music, artisan food and entertainment.

4. Hengistbury Head's Hallowe'en trail returns tomorrow and on Saturday between 10am and 3.30pm. The event starts and finishes at the Visitor Centre.

5. Poole's Upton Country Park is holding a pumpkin parade in the Walled Garden on Sunday between 11am and 3pm. There will be prizes for the best pumpkin and fancy-dress for children and adults with themed crafts and activities taking place throughout the day.

6. Family Hallowe'en fun comes to Highcliffe Castle on Saturday and Sunday between 2pm and 7pm. Brave visitors will be invited to explore the rooms of the castle, completing fun games and activities as they go.

7. Historic mainline steam locomotive ‘Black 5’ is operating at Swanage Railway all this week. It will finish off the week on Sunday by hauling the heritage line's Dorsetman Sunday lunch train.

8. The Wellness & Beauty Expo 2018 takes over Tregonwell Hall at the BIC on Sunday between 10am and 5pm.

9. Singer Michael Bolton brings his first UK tour in two years to the BIC on Saturday night.

10. Watch Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows from your car at Castlepoint Shopping Park on Saturday from 6pm.
