THE 'World's best B&B' is going up for sale.

Bindon Bottom in the village of West Lulworth has won a string of awards for its service including the coveted World's Best from reviews website TripAdvisor in the 2014 and 2017 Travellers’ Choice Awards. The annual awards honour the world’s most outstanding properties across 10 categories.

The Victorian country house, which dates back to 1871 and is a 10-minute walk away from Lulworth Cove, has variously been named fifth best in the world and second best in Europe and the UK.

Owners Lisa and Clive Orchard set up the B&B in 2010 and, say estate agents Savills, extensively refurbished and re-modelled the property.

The house is currently arranged to offer both private quarters and guest accommodation, said Savills. The rear of the property has a two storey extension which provides a kitchen, snug and private bedroom suite above, allowing the rest of the house to be used for guest accommodation, with all five guest bedrooms benefitting from en suite facilities. A breakfast room is located on the ground floor at the front of the property, and the basement is currently used as a gym / games room.

Ashley Rawlings of Savills Wimborne, who is marketing the property, said: “Bindon Bottom is in a prime location, ideally positioned to attract the tourists who flock to Lulworth Cove all year round. The property is presented in immaculate condition with elegant and well-appointed accommodation, which has resulted in the business’s deserved superb reputation.”

He said it would 'perfectly suit' someone looking for a change of pace, as it offered: "A wonderful lifestyle and the chance to run a highly successful and established tourist business."

However, there is no guarantee the house would remain as a B&B and, he said: "It would be very simple to reconfigure the property into a private home, which would make an idyllic location in which to bring up a family, or as a coastal escape for weekends and holidays.”

The property is on the market for £825,000.
