A WEATHER warning of strong winds for tomorrow has been lifted.

The Met Office previously issued a yellow warning for the whole of Dorset which was due to come into force from 12pm today until 6pm tomorrow.

Winds of 50mph to 60mph were forecast inland with gusts of 70mph on the coast.

The warning for Dorset was lifted yesterday and the area of low pressure, which has been named Storm Erik, will instead affect Scotland and Ireland.

However, heavy rain is expected for Dorset throughout Friday.

The weekend is expected to be dry with sunny spells with highs of 9C on Saturday and 8C on Sunday.
