A MAN was kicked while lying on the ground before his bag was stolen in Boscombe.

The assault took place in Walpole Lane at around 11.40pm on Wednesday.

It was reported four men assaulted the victim, a man aged in his 20s.

He suffered injuries to his face and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police were called and carried out a search of the area.

A 26-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. A 27-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery and possession of cannabis. They are all assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Karen Penn, of Bournemouth CID, said: “A full investigation is under way into this incident and we are trying to trace an outstanding suspect.

“Following enquiries I believe there was a man and a woman who were in the area at the time and I would ask them, or anyone who saw them, to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would also ask for any other witnesses to come forward.”
