A ONE-month-old baby girl from Bournemouth died of an hypoxic brain injury, an inquest heard.
Adiba Alismael, of Frances Road, died at Southampton General Hospital on Thursday, June 6.
At an inquest held at Bournemouth coroner's court on Friday afternoon, it was heard that police and paramedics responded to reports of an unresponsive child on Thursday, May 30.
Coroner's officer Nicola Muller told the short hearing CPR had been undertaken at the scene.
Paramedics continued efforts of resuscitation before Adiba was transferred to Southampton General Hospital.
The inquest heard various tests were taken during the baby's admission and it was found she suffered from an hypoxic brain injury.
Ms Muller said despite treatment her condition continued to decline and, after discussions with the family, she was palliated and passed away.
Police confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.
A consultant at the hospital gave a cause of death as hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy due to asphyxia.
The inquest was adjourned by assistant coroner Brendan Allen. A full hearing is set to take place at the coroner’s court on November 20, 2019.
