FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze that started on the Lulworth Ranges this morning.

Seven crews, along with a water carrier and a 4x4 Unimog, have attended the incident.

The fire broke out in the Bindon Hill area at around 10am.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were "trying to surround the fire as best they can".

The scale of the blaze is currently unknown.

Firefighters were also called to Cranemoor Common in Highcliffe after a suspected heath fire.

Two crews and a Land Rover pump arrived at the scene following a 999 call at 11.10am.

However, they discovered the fire was a controlled burn in a nearby garden.
