VISITORS to one of Dorset’s most historical sites are being given the opportunity to “create their own masterpieces” in stone or watercolours.

A series of workshops, organised by the National Trust, are scheduled for Corfe Castle next month.

A National Trust spokesman , said: “From medieval masons to modern artists, Corfe Castle has long inspired creativity. Now you can create your own masterpiece in stone or watercolours thanks to a series of workshops for adults and children.”

Purbeck artist Jenny Hawke leads a watercolour class for adults on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, while sculptor Jonathan Sells teaches basic stone carving to children and adults on the weekends of September 21/22 and September 28/29.

“All workshops take place in the surroundings of Corfe Castle itself, where any budding artist is bound to find inspiration,” said the spokesman.

Sessions are £3 per head and booking is advance is essential.
