WEYMOUTH'S Jurassic Skyline tower is to remain in place for the time-being.
Operators are unable to say when the 53-metre tower will be removed – but it doesn't look it will be anytime soon.
The Echo reported at the beginning of August how the ride, which opened in 2012, had been permanently closed following a slump in visitor numbers.
It has been sold to another operator and will leave the UK.
The Jurassic Skyline was owned by Merlin Entertainments, also owns the Weymouth Sea Life Centre.
The tower used to open all-year round but then in 2016 it started closing for the winter months, reopening for the season in April. The move came following a business decision which reflected the 'changing tourism landscape'.
It failed to reopen for the summer season this year.
A spokesman for Jurassic Skyline said: "We are still working closely with Dorset Council to manage the removal of Jurassic Skyline and reinstatement of the land at the peninsula in the coming months. We don’t have a confirmed date yet."
Dorset Council did not want to comment.
