SWANAGE is expected to be packed with music fans for the town's 32nd Blues Festival.

The event, set for 18 indoor venues from October 3-6, attracts visitors from around the world.

Organiser Steve Darrington says 40 bands will be providing the music.

Performers include Tommy Harkenrider from Orange County, Las Vegas, who has a world following of guitarists eager to learn how to play like the original blues masters.

He’ll be with a band of top players, including harmonica ace Hugh Budden from Poole.

Guy Tortora was born and raised in Pasadena, California and appears with Ben Tyzack from the famous Spikedrivers at The Centre, a new venture and part of the Swanage & Purbeck Development Trust.

Then there’s Gary Fletcher from the Blues Band, which includes Paul Jones; award-winning harmonica virtuoso Paul Lamb with Chad Strentz; and Blues Dharma with Divyanand Caird (Saraswati Veena), Dheeraj Mishra (Tabla) and Robert Hokum (vocals, guitar), who explore the common ground between Asian music and the Blues. Plus plenty more.

Steve said: "The festival is funded by a simple £10 support wristband to help cover the costs of the not-for-profit company, to ensure the future of these big town parties.
