THE Sandbanks Ferry is on the move and ready for its return to Dorset.
On Sunday, the ferry, the Bramble Bush Bay, was towed off its mooring and moved to another in Southampton Water in preparation for being towed back to Sandbanks tonight.
It has been out of action since July and news of its return will be welcomed by residents and businesses affected by its absence.
The ferry has passed a Maritime and Coastguard Agency inspection.
When it arrives in Dorset is is set to undergo several days of intensive testing on chains ahead of opening for service.
