DRIVERS have been warned to allow extra time for their journey when two weeks of roadworks start on the A35 Upton Bypass.

Overnight roadworks are scheduled, between 8pm-6am, from Sunday, January 12, up until Wednesday, January 15.

The following mornings there will be rolling lane closures for side verging and drainage works between the Baker's Arms Roundabout and the Upton slip roads.

On the second week, there will be a lane closure taking place, 9.30am-3.30pm, from Monday, January 20, up until Friday, January 24, to allow a blocked drainage pipe to be replaced.

A Dorset Council spokesman said: "This day work is between the Upton Bypass westbound on-slip and Policeman’s Lane Bridge, please allow extra time for your journey."
