Kind-hearted residents have offered to help the victims of a garage fire which spread to a house in Basingstoke this morning.
Fire fighters were called to the scene on Pyotts Hill just before 9am to reports of a blaze. The flames had jumped across the a neighbour's roof, prompting an evacuation.
Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service had crews from across the county in attendance including Basingstoke, Tadley and Whitchurch.
The blaze was finally out by early afternoon though the damaging conditions had left some without a home to return to.
Paul Fearon, the manager of the Apollo Hotel, has offered short-term accommodation to those affected by the fire.
In a message shared to Facebook, he said: "The Apollo Hotel would be more than happy to help with a short term foc accommodation solution to help the families involved in this most distressing situation.
"Our thoughts are with them. Happy to pass on contact details to the family directly. Thank you."
Meanwhile, there are talks of setting up a JustGiving page to help those affected get back on their feet.
