THE Army and police are currently responding to a possible unexploded device in Purbeck.

Officers from Dorset Police were called shortly after 11am to reports of the potential piece of ordnance that had been found near Slepe Farm in Arne, Wareham.

Members of the Purbeck Police team are currently in attendance.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 11.03am on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, to a report that a possible unexploded device had been found near Slepe Farm in Arne, Wareham.

"Officers are currently in attendance and liaising with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team."
