A MAN in his 60s was injured when he slipped down a cliff at Swanage today.

The coastguard helicopter joined police officers during a rescue operation at Peveril Point.

Officials were called out after the casualty was hurt this morning.

A spokesperson from Purbeck police said: "Coastguard teams from Swanage and St Aldhelm's attended, along with ambulance crews, the coastguard helicopter and the air ambulance.

"The casualty was winched from the bottom of the cliff and transported to hospital by ambulance.

"Fingers are crossed for a speedy recovery."
